Douglas - Accommodation |
Castle
Douglas is set in the heart of Dumfries
and Galloway. It is unusual in that Carlinwark
Loch sits in the heart of the town. This makes
it very picturesque, it also encourages a feeling
of calm and relaxation. There are 2 parks, one
at the top of the town and one at the lochside.
The town is called the regions 'Food Town' because
there are over 50 small local businesses dedicated
to the making and providing of high quality food.
We have Michelin starred restaurants, fine baking,
organic farm produce and small market gardens.
Fish from the sea, beef from the hills. There
is also a beautiful walk around the loch called
'lovers walk'

Douglas is a small rural town which has a strong
history in many ways, brutal with the reign of the Black

called that without reason) The town has one main street
